Dos and Don’ts for Mechanical Engineering Laboratory!
Every lab has its own rules and practices and you should make sure you follow them. These rules are basically meant to maintain the decorum of the place and also the uniformity. Therefore, maintaining the rules is necessary. Here are a few dos and don’ts for mechanical lab which you have to follow:
DO’s:
~ Always be on time. This is to ensure that you can be very well briefed about the experiment you are going to perform.
~ Always ask for help of your instructor or the lab assistant if you are stuck somewhere in the experiment or you have cut yourself or if there is a fire.
~ Make sure you are well aware of all the safety instruments and it is better if you ask your assistant for a proper safety instruments demonstration.
~ Do not bring your bags or any other things to the experiment area. Make sure there is no clutter while you are doing any experiment.
~ Maintain an observation copy whenever you are coming to the lab.
DON’T’s
~ Do not use your phones or any other electronic gadgets while you are there.
~ Do not eat anything or chew gum or apply any cosmetics to your face in the lab. Just being in the lab makes your hands dirty and you do not want to transfer any reactant to your face or mouth.
~ Do not put any pieces of equipment in your mouth.
~ Do not leave without washing your hands.
